I have compared several schools before my decision. I want to learn Chinese well and I also like to know Chinese culture. And I think the attitude of the teacher, the consultant here are all very positive. I like to stay with them and get the care from th
One of the best publicity pictures I have was of my Pipa playing partner and myself. Yumei was very experienced
at directing publicity etc as she was in charge of promoting the Kaohsiung Orchestra and the Conservatory of
Traditional Instruments in Taipei. When we started performing together we needed some Photos so she orchestrated
or Photo Shoot. She said the best pictures are those that are not touched up. The night before we had a water drinking
session. She said if you drink lots of water the wrinkles won’t show and we won't have to touch up the photo. It was
just to be a head shot. We got to the studio the next day and put on our fancy blouses but we didn’t have skirts or
anything to go with the blouses. The photographer covered us up with a black piece of material so only the part we
wanted photographed which was our heads and instruments would show. Upon arriving at the studio I was fine but
Yumei’s face had swollen up from drinking too much water. We had to wait until some of the liquid went out of her
system before we could start being photographed. A couple days later the photographer gave us the pictures and we
couldn’t stop laughing. There we were dressed to the hilt with our bare feet sticking out of the black material. . Everyone
said oh you look so young in that picture. They should only know we drank a couple of gallons of water the night before.
We never thought we also would have a humorous shot of our bare feet. They were cropped out of course!
